This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect, how we use and protect this information, and the circumstances under which it may be shared with third parties. By accessing or using Elechool, you acknowledge and agree to this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy, together with the Terms of Service posted on our platform, establishes the general rules and guidelines governing your use of Elechool. Depending on your activities while using our platform, you may also be required to agree to additional terms of service specific to those activities.
Like most online platforms, Elechool collects non-personally-identifying information typically provided by web browsers and servers. This includes data such as browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. The purpose of collecting this information is to better understand how users interact with Elechool’s website and web app, enabling us to improve the user experience. From time to time, Elechool may share aggregated, non-personally-identifying information, such as publishing reports on platform usage trends.
Elechool also collects potentially personally-identifying information, such as Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, particularly for logged-in users. These IP addresses are disclosed only under the same conditions that apply to the disclosure of personally identifiable information, as described in the relevant sections below.
Certain visitors to Elechool’s platform (website and web app) choose to interact with Elechool in ways that require the collection of personally-identifying information. The type and amount of information collected depend on the nature of the interaction. For example, visitors leaving a comment on our website may be asked to provide a username and email address.
You may be asked to provide certain personal data for display on your profile. The “Name” field is required as well as public, and user profiles are visible to any site visitor in addition to, other profile information that may be required or optional.
User information provided during account registration can be modified or removed on the Profile >> Edit panel. In most cases, users also have control over who is able to view a particular piece of profile content, limiting visibility on a field-by-field basis to friends, logged-in users, or administrators only. Elechool administrators can read and edit all profile data for all users.
If you login to Elechool via Google or another third-party platform or service, we ask for your permission to access certain information about that other account. For example, depending on the platform or service we may collect your name, profile picture, account ID number, login email address, location, physical location of your access devices, gender and birthdate, Those platforms and services make information available to us through their APIs. The information we receive depends on what information you (via your privacy settings) or the platform or service decide to give us.
When you access content on Elechool, we collect data such as the courses, assignments, workspaces, and quizzes you’ve started and completed; content purchases and credits; completion certificates; interactions with instructors and other students; and items submitted to meet course requirements, such as essays or answers to questions. If you are an instructor, we store your educational content, which may include data about you.
If you are an instructor, you can link your PayPal account to the Services to receive payments. When you link a payment account, we collect and use certain information, including your payment account email address, account ID, physical address, or other data necessary for us to send payments to your account. Elechool does not collect or store sensitive bank account information. The collection, use, and disclosure of your payment, billing, and taxation data is subject to the privacy policy and other terms of your payment account provider.
Elechool also records user actions as “activity data,” including updates and comments posted to activity streams and actions performed on the platform, such as forming new friendships, joining groups, or updating profiles.
The content of activity items obey the same privacy rules as the contexts in which the activity items are created. For example, activity updates created in a user’s profile is publicly visible, while activity items generated in a private group are visible only to members of that group. Elechool administrators can view all activity items, regardless of context.
Activity items may be deleted at any time by users who created them. Elechool administrators can edit all activity items.
The content of private messages is visible only to the sender and the recipients of the message. With the exception of Elechool administrators, who can read all private messages, private message content is never visible to other users or site visitors. Elechool administrators may delete the content of any message.
The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. So it’s important to protect your password and to contact us if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.
Our Service may contain links to external sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy and terms of service of every site you visit.
We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites, products or services.
Elechool discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors, analytics and data enrichment providers and affiliated organisations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Elechool’s behalf or to provide services available at Elechool’s platform such as help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you, (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organisations may be located outside of your home country; by using Elechool’s platform, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. Elechool will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organisations, as described above, Elechool discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when Elechool believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Elechool, third parties or the public at large.
If you are a registered user of Elechool and have provided your email address, Elechool may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with Elechool and our products. We primarily use our blog to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. Elechool takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
Elechool may collect statistics about the behaviour of visitors to its platform. Elechool may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Elechool does not disclose your personally-identifying information.
To enhance your online experience, Elechool uses cookies, similar technologies, and services provided by third parties to display personalized content, deliver relevant advertising, and store your preferences.
A cookie is a small data file that a website stores on a visitor’s device and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website upon each return.
Elechool uses cookies to help identify, track visitors and track cart contents, in addition to show success and failure messages to logged-in users, in response to certain actions, like joining a group. These cookies contain no personal data, and are deleted immediately after the next page load.
Also, uses cookies on group, member, and activity directories to keep track of a user’s browsing preferences. These preferences include the last-selected values of the sort and filter dropdowns, as well as pagination information. These cookies contain no personal data, and are deleted after 24 hours.
When a logged-in user creates a new group, Elechool uses a number of cookies to keep track of the group creation process. These cookies contain no personal data, and are deleted either upon the successful creation of the group or after 24 hours.
Elechool will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Visitors who prefer not to have cookies placed on their devices should configure their browsers to refuse cookies before using Elechool’s platform. However, some features of the platform may not function properly without cookies.

Elechool will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.
Elechool generally stores information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 3 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.
We will also store comments or reviews, if you choose to leave them.
In each case, Elechool collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfil the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Elechool. Elechool does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described above. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain platform-related activities
We accept payments through Stripe. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Stripe, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

If Elechool, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired, or in the unlikely event that Elechool goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of Elechool may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this policy.
Although most changes are likely to be minor, Elechool may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in Elechool’s sole discretion. Elechool encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy.
